It Takes a Village to Maintain an Adaptable Workforce

Looking back on this year, the Workforce Development Center would like to extend its gratitude to all businesses, organizations, and individuals who have opened their doors and provided professional mentorship to our participants. Whether we serve in-school youth or out-of-school adults, all of our WDC programs share one common goal – to fulfill the employment needs of our local businesses by providing tailored support, individualized career planning, and skills training to the most needed populations

Workforce Development and Youth One Stop collaborate on a Military Experiential Workshop

For the first time, Workforce Development and Youth One Stop collaborated together on bringing in a military professional to conduct a workshop. Workforce partnered with Angel Orsini from the Army National Guard for this special project.

Workforce Development Center and YOU Collaboration

As Poughkeepsie’s old YMCA building is reconstructed into the Youth Opportunity Union (YOU), a community center for youth and families throughout Dutchess County, it’s imperative that youth have a say in what those opportunities look like. In February, the Workforce Development Center (WFDC) partnered with Talent Davis, Lead Community Engagement Specialist with MASS Design, to walk Youth One Stop participants through a dialogue about the overall design and offered services at the YOU.
