SUMMARY:26th Annual International Wine Showcase & Auction
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 26th Annual International Wine Showcase & Auction -- on the beautiful Hudson River shoreline\, in an elegant setting in the shadow of the Mid-Hudson Bridge.  EXTENSIVE wine tastings indoors and al fresco with offerings from approximately 15 companies\, paired with 2 live bands\, scrumptious appetizers\, a garde manger table\, passed hors d'oeuvres\, a chilled seafood display\, and delectable French desserts. The evening culminates with a phenomenal fireworks display backdropped by the illuminated Mid-Hudson Bridge. Silent and live auctions that feature collectible wines -- in all size bottles including Wine Spectator favorites in 3-litre/magnum bottles and cases -- as well as other interesting offerings like weekend getaways\, golf outings\, sports memorabilia and sporting event tickets\, artwork\, and jewelry.\n\nThis year's honorees are: Dr. Donald J. Calista\, from the private sector\, Director of the Graduate Center on Public Policy at Marist College\, and IBM from the corporate sector. \n\nProceeds fund such things as Greystone's Expressive Arts & Therapy Programs -- and may include things like piano and chorus lessons\, wheelchair yoga\, Zumba\, arts & crafts\, and purchase of I-pads and other innovative communication technologies for nonverbal individuals\, as well as other life-enriching services and devices. \n\nGreystone Programs provides essential services and life-enriching opportuinities for children\, adults\, and families living with Autism and other developmental disabiliites. We started in 1979 by opening the FIRST privately-run group home in NY State for people with Autism. Today we offer 13 group homes\, one apartment\, and community-based services for more than 500 children\, adults and families in five Hudson Valley counties.\n\nAlso at this event: catch a sneak tasting of a new Greystone beer to be created by North River Hops & Brewing and released at a party Oct. 10.
