DESCRIPTION:This family-friendly event will host local restaurants serving tasting portions of their prize chili recipes and other specialties\, such as cheeses\, salsa\, cornbread and desserts. ''Pasta tastings\,'' games and activities will be available for the children.\n\nThe event will feature a live country music band\, chili judging contests and much more.  Cast your vote to determine the People's Choice Award winners for vegetarian chili\, non-vegetarian chili and best cornbread!\n\nColon cancer is one of the most curable types of cancer\, if diagnosed in the early stages. In many cases\, colon cancer can be prevented with proper screening and the removal of polyps detected in colonoscopies. Colon cancer is the second most common cancer in the United States. Nearly 150\,000 cases are detected yearly and approximately 50\,000 people die each year from colon cancer.\n\nThe mission of Premier Cares Foundation is to provide support\, awareness\, education and treatment to those individuals in the community with digestive and urologic diseases. Money raised at the Chili Festival supports local charities to offer services for patients with gastrointestinal diseases including colorectal cancer.
