DESCRIPTION:The Council on Addiction Prevention & Education of Dutchess County\, Inc. is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Cupcakes for CAPE fundraiser. This is a charity event aimed to benefit the Marathon Project. The Marathon Project is an after-school training program that seeks to reduce risk factors such as childhood obesity\, school drop-out and substance misuse.\nThe 2nd Annual Cupcakes for CAPE Fundraiser will take place on Saturday\, April 26 2014 at the BOCES gymnasium at Salt Point located at 5 Boces Road in Poughkeepsie NY. Bakers will be set up by 10:30am and doors open to the public at 11:00am.\nAll high school and middle school students in Dutchess County are invited to participate in a bake off competition for best cupcake in the county. This 2nd annual event serves multiple purposes:\n1)	To increase the availability of pro-social activities for youth\n2)	To showcase the talents of our students.\n3)	To raise awareness about youth risk behaviors\, specifically the increased use of alcohol\, marijuana\, and opiates among adolescents and young adults. \n4)	To raise funds for prevention and early intervention- a top priority for Dutchess County\nStudent teams or individuals are invited to compete for fun and prizes. There is no entry for the student bakers. There will be a $5.00 entry fee charged for all other attendees. \n\nThis event is open to the public for cupcake tasting.
