DESCRIPTION:Health Quest Community Education is Promoting National CPR and AED Awareness Week\nNational CPR and AED Awareness Week is June 1-7 and emphasizes how lives can be saved if more individuals were trained in CPR and the importance of knowing how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).  \nDuring the week of June 1-7\, Health Quest Community Education will conduct additional American Heart Association (AHA) Friends & Family CPR/AED classes to raise awareness on the importance of CPR and AED training. Health Quest will offer one training class at each of its three hospitals free to community residents.  The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only® CPR\, child CPR with breaths\, adult and child AED use\, infant CPR with breaths and relief of choking in an adult\, child or infant. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment by using the AHA's research-proven practice-while-watching technique\, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.  Family & Friends CPR is a basic course and does not offer a certification card upon completion.\nClasses will be held at Vassar Brothers Medical Center\, Northern Dutchess Hospital & Putnam Hospital Center on the following dates:\nVassar Brothers Medical Center\, Joseph Tower Auditorium\nMonday\, June 2nd\, 2014 from 11am – 3pm\nNorthern Dutchess Hospital\, Board Room\nWednesday\, June 4th\, 2014 from 11am – 3pm\nPutnam Hospital Center\, Michael Weber Conference Room\nThursday\, June 5th\, 2014 from 11am – 3pm\n\nYou must call (845) 475-9742 and register to attend.
