Her work and writing focus on Islamic feminism\, inter-religious engagement\, religious pluralism\, and social justice. She is author of Never Wholly Other: A Muslima Theology of Religious Pluralism\, which re-interprets the Qur'anic discourse on religious 'otherness' and diversity.
