SUMMARY:Vassar College - Campus-Wide Interactive Art Installation
DESCRIPTION:The Red Sand Project\, a global effort designed to raise awareness about human trafficking\, is coming to Vassar College. Organized by a group of students\, this interactive art project begins with syphoning red sand into sidewalk cracks across campus. This will take place on Friday and Saturday\, April 14 and 15\, 10:00am-5:00pm. The campus Collaboratory\, a mobile exhibition space\, will contain an exhibition of information on human trafficking\, accompanying an interactive art project by the artist Molly Gochman. "The red sand symbolizes the victims who fall through the cracks of society- thus educating on the nature of human trafficking while engaging with the community\," says Grace Roebuck\, a senior at Vassar\, who helped to organize the project. The sand and installation will be on view through April 26. This event is free and open to the public.
