Beacon Barks

Description

The Dutchess County SPCA and The Beacon Barkery invite all dog lovers to "Beacon Barks!" on Saturday April 26, 2014 from 11am-3pm on lower Main Street Beacon. The free, family-friendly parade and festival supports local animal shelters and rescue groups. The event attracts 5,000 people and 1,000 dogs. The parade begins at 11 a.m., at Peace Park. Contests include "Best Canine Group", "Best Canine Marcher" and "Best Canine Spirit." Dogs will be welcome in participating shops that day and many restaurants will set up sidewalk dining for you and your dog accompanied by live music. The event is sponsored in part by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Vendor applications are available for those businesses and non-profits interested in hosting a booth.
