This awesome event is a fundraiser for the Special Needs Pre-school known as the Panichi Family Center for Communications and Learning in Beacon, NY. The 5K race is pending USATF certification for 2014! This is a flat course beginning on the Highland side of the Walkway Over the Hudson. The race proceeds over the Walkway and back. Make this your first 5K or a beginning of season warm up race! Not into running? This event also offers a scenic 5K non-competitive walk over the Walkway and back. Maplebrook School initiated this event eight years ago as a means of teaching our students about philanthropy and the importance of giving back. We have age group awards, post-run food, music, and what's sure to become the Hudson Valley's most coveted run/walk t-shirt! *Please note that the t-shirts are for runners only.* *Walkers will receive an event bracelet.* Event schedule and times Registration begins at 8:30 AM 5K Race and 5K Walk begins at 10:00 AM Awards will be distributed immediately after completion of the race. You MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.
