Spark Media Project Presents: "Talking Back to Media Messages" for Teens & Tweens. The Millbrook Library is excited to host SPARK MEDIA PROJECT (formerly called the Children's Media Project) and its two-part program "Talking Back to Media Messages." In this two-part workshop, teens and tweens will learn to recognize the role that media plays in shaping their lives by applying basic media literacy principles to advertisements in order to decode them. They will be analyzing negative image advertising and then creating "talk-back" ads in response. They'll get to use cameras, digital software, etc. and will have a finished product response ad at the end of the program. This program is free but registration is required--registrants must attend both sessions. To register, call Spark Media Project at 845-485-4480 or register online. This program is supported by The Vincent and Carol W. Dean Family Charitable Foundation and the NYSEDC.
