The Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill and the National Park Service invite you to a symposium commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. July 2nd marks the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, landmark legislation that fundamentally altered the landscape of this country. To its supporters, the Act embodied a promise to end discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and national origin. It also promised full and fair inclusion in the public and economic life of the nation for all.
