Position Summary

Black Market Canna Co LLC is seeking a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Part-Time Budtender to join our retail team.

The Budtender is responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting adult customers with product selection and education, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining strict compliance with New York State cannabis regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide a professional, respectful, and judgment-free experience.

• Verify customer identification and age before completing sales or releasing orders.

• Educate customers on cannabis products, formats, potency, cannabinoid profiles, consumption methods, and responsible use without making medical or therapeutic claims.

• Accurately process POS transactions and maintain accountability for assigned cash drawers.

• Maintain knowledge of current products, promotions, loyalty programs, recalls, and store procedures.

• Monitor sales floor inventory and report damaged, mislabeled, expired, recalled, or questionable products.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional retail environment.

• Follow all applicable New York State Office of Cannabis Management requirements, company SOPs, security procedures, and compliance standards.

• Protect confidential customer, employee, sales, inventory, and business information.

• Complete required training and participate in product education as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented.

• Comfortable handling cash, POS systems, and retail technology.

• Ability to learn and communicate cannabis product information responsibly.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Previous retail, hospitality, customer service, or cannabis experience preferred.

• Must meet all applicable requirements to work in a New York State licensed adult-use cannabis dispensary.

Schedule & Physical Requirements

Must have flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak retail periods. Position requires standing for extended periods, reaching, bending, scanning and stocking products, and lifting up to 25 pounds as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

$17.00–$18.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, availability, scheduling needs, and operational requirements.

Part-time employees are not currently eligible for company-sponsored benefits unless otherwise required by applicable law or written company policy.
