Healthy Kids Programs to Host Community Open House in Poughkeepsie as Dutchess County Reopens Child Care Assistance Applications
Poughkeepsie, NY — March 18, 2026 — Healthy Kids Programs will host a Community Open House at its Early Learning Center in Poughkeepsie on March 28, offering families an opportunity to explore child care options at a critical time as Dutchess County has officially reopened applications for child care tuition assistance.
The event is designed to help local families learn about newly available financial support while experiencing the center’s licensed early learning environment firsthand. Healthy Kids staff will be available to guide families through subsidy eligibility, enrollment steps, and program availability for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.
“As Dutchess County expands access to child care assistance, we want families to know that high-quality early learning is within reach,” said Heather Lynn, Chief Registration & Marketing Officer at Healthy Kids Programs. “This Open House is an opportunity for families to connect with our team, tour the center, and receive personalized support in understanding their options.”
Healthy Kids Programs has continued to invest in the Poughkeepsie community by expanding access to reliable, research-based early learning programs that support both children’s development and families’ ability to work and thrive.
The Poughkeepsie Early Learning Center provides a nurturing, safety-focused environment where children learn through purposeful play, hands-on exploration, and strong social-emotional support. Programs are grounded in the Creative Curriculum and the Pyramid Model, helping children build confidence, curiosity, and meaningful connections.
Families attending the Open House will be able to:
• Tour classrooms and meet educators
• Learn about daily schedules and curriculum
• Receive one-on-one guidance on child care assistance eligibility
• Enroll on-site with support from the Healthy Kids team
• Enjoy family-friendly activities and opportunities to connect with community partners
“We know affordability is one of the biggest barriers families face when seeking care,” said Paris Faison, Associate Executive Director of Early Learning. “With subsidy applications now reopened in Dutchess County, this event helps families take the next step toward securing safe, supportive early learning for their children.”
The event will also feature guided tours, ice cream truck treats, a visit from the local fire department, an appearance by a local women’s basketball team, and opportunities to meet community leaders.
